FDA Joins International Effort to Create Standards for Tubing Connections

The FDA is teaming up with several international organizations to develop standards for manufacturers that would minimize the risk of life-threatening tubing misconnections. The standards would cover incompatible connectors used in intravascular breathing systems and enteral, urethral, urinary, cuff inflation and neuraxial applications, according to the FDA.
