Boston Scientific to Close Plants, Save $100 Million Annually

Boston Scientific is planning to close five manufacturing plants over the next three years as it attempts to trim $100 million from its annual production cost base. “This should simplify our plant network and reduce manufacturing costs substantially,” Boston Scientific Chief Financial Officer Sam Leno told analysts during the company’s recent year-end earnings call. “We’ll relocate about 15 percent of today’s value production to different plants as we look to optimize the network.”
