Remediation at Zimmer’s OSP Plant Nearing Completion

Zimmer expects its orthopedic surgical products (OSP) manufactured at its facility in Dover, Ohio, to be back on the market by the second quarter — once all quality control issues that forced the plant to halt production are resolved. The company had hoped to start manufacturing virtually all its OSP products by the end of 2008. “We were successful in reinitiating some of the products before the end of 2008,” Zimmer CEO David Dvorak told investors during the company’s recent year-end earnings call.
