FDA Seeks More Automated Information Collection on Imports

The FDA needs more data to make admissibility decisions when importers seek to bring products into the U.S. The agency issued a request for comment on the automated collection of four additional pieces of information that are not available in the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s data set — FDA product code, country of production, manufacturer/shipper and ultimate consignee.
