Santen, Bausch & Lomb Strike Licensing Agreement for IOL Development

Bausch & Lomb has entered into a licensing agreement with Santen Pharmaceutical to develop materials for next-generation intraocular lenses (IOL). Under the agreement, Bausch & Lomb has gained the rights to Santen’s hydrophobic acrylic polymers to manufacture IOLs for worldwide sale. Santen reserves the right for the use of the materials in Japan, Bausch & Lomb says in a statement. Financial terms were not disclosed.
