Court Rules for Sanofi in Lovenox Antitrust Case

A federal court has dismissed claims of antitrust violations filed by Amphastar Pharmaceuticals against two Sanofi-Aventis subsidiaries in a lawsuit involving the blood thinner Lovenox. Judge Mariana Pfaelzer of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California ruled that Amphastar’s second amended counterclaim in the suit, Aventis Pharma S.A. and Aventis Pharmaceuticals, Inc., v. Amphastar Pharmaceuticals, Inc., fails to show antitrust injury, according to court documents.
