Report: China Should Update Standards, Set Basic Requirements for Devices

China needs to align its device standards with international practice and establish a clear, national policy that sets principles for device safety and efficacy, a draft report concludes. Harmonization and greater emphasis on voluntary-versus-mandatory standards are essential to removing barriers and facilitating trade between the EU and China, the report by the EU-China Medical Device Expert Roundtable says.
