FDA Approves St. Jude’s Updated Cardiac Network

St. Jude Medical has received FDA approval for version 3.1 of its Merlin.net Patient Care Network, an Internet-based remote care system for patients with implanted medical devices. The system adds new options to its DirectAlerts Notification feature, including an on-call physician outside normal business hours. The range of possible triggers now includes episodes of atrial fibrillation, St. Jude said.
