DMCs Report About 370 Trials Annually, Says FDA

U.S. manufacturers of drugs, biologics and medical devices use data monitoring committees (DMCs) in an estimated 370 clinical trials a year to help ensure patient safety and the validity of trial results. The FDA estimates about 10 studies per company are conducted each year, according to a proposed collection of information prepared for the Office of Management and Budget.
