Qualitest Recalls Insulin Syringes

Qualitest Pharmaceuticals is voluntarily recalling two lots of Accusure insulin syringes, according to an FDA MedWatch. Some needles from the batches have detached from the syringe, causing them to become stuck in the insulin vial, push back into the syringe or remain in the skin after an injection. Lot numbers 6JCB1 and 7CPT1 were distributed to wholesalers and retail pharmacies in the U.S. and Puerto Rico from January 2007 through June 2008.
