Company Gets CE Marking for Neurostimulator

St. Jude Medical received CE Marking in the EU for its Brio neurostimulator, according to a company statement. The device is intended to treat symptoms of Parkinson’s disease by delivering mild electrical pulses to stimulate brain structures involved in motor control. The neurostimulator weighs approximately 1 oz. and has a battery life of 10 years. The company also has received CE marking for its Guardian Burr Hole Cover System that allows physicians to secure the Brio’s electrical leads.
