China Outlines Process to Register Trademarks

Devicemakers seeking trademark protection in China now have a road map to follow. Manufacturers first must submit a completed trademark file to the China Trademark Office (CTMO) and ensure that all relevant fees have been paid, the China IPR SME Helpdesk, an EU-funded project, says in a posting on its website last month. After receiving the application, the CTMO will verify that all criteria have been met and then issue a preliminary approval.
