Medtronic to Appeal ProDisc Decision

Medtronic Sofamor Danek plans to appeal a federal court decision awarding Synthes about $21 million in a patent dispute. U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee Judge Jon McCalla permanently enjoined Medtronic last month from infringing Synthes’ ’071 patent covering the ProDisc-L artificial disc replacement device, according to court documents.
