FDA: Testing, Planning Needed to Protect Supply Chains

Manufacturers should secure their supply chains through testing and anticipate risks to head off issues such as contamination of imported components, FDA officials said at the Parenteral Drug Association-FDA 2009 Joint Regulatory Conference. The agency is looking more closely at quality management systems as a first step toward that goal, FDA consumer safety officer Steven Wolfgang said.
