Task Force Finds Insufficient Evidence for Screening for Newborn Jaundice

A task force has not found enough evidence to assess the balance of benefits and harms of screening infants for jaundice to prevent chronic bilirubin encephalopathy. It has not been proven that screening leads to improved health outcomes, Ned Calogne, chairman of the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force, says in a statement released by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.
