Next CDRH Director May Not Be Insider

Acting CDRH Director Jeff Shuren is not expected to permanently fill in as the office’s new division head, which opens the possibility to someone coming from outside the center, Jonathan Kahan, partner and co-director of the food, drug, medical device and agriculture group at Hogan & Hartson, said. While doubtful that the new director will come from within CDRH, Kahan said it’s possible that a replacement could still come from another part of the FDA.
