Hospira Recalls Liposyn, Propofol Because of Particulate Matter

Hospira is voluntarily recalling 85 lots of Liposyn and 73 lots of propofol injectable emulsion because some containers may include particulate matter. The source of the particulates has been identified as stainless steel equipment used in the manufacturing process, and the company is implementing corrective action, according to a company statement on the recall posted on the FDA’s website this week.
