Senator, Researchers Question Ghostwriting, Industry Influence

Drugmakers’ relationships with researchers who permit their names to be used to promote products continue to come under fire from both the private and public sectors. Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), who has a long track record of advocating for transparency in the relationships drugmakers have with physicians and academic institutions, sent a letter recently to 10 medical schools, inquiring about their policies on ghostwriting and comparing the practice to plagiarism.
