Medicare to Cover HIV Screening Tests

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) will cover HIV screening for Medicare beneficiaries who are at increased risk for the infection as well as those who request the service, it says in a decision memo issued Tuesday. Under the new policy, which is effective immediately, CMS will cover standard and FDA-approved HIV rapid screening tests.
