Bovie Medical Receives Clearance for Resistick II Coated Electrodes

December 25, 2009
Bovie Medical has received FDA 510(k) clearance for its Resistick II coated blades, needles and ball electrodes, which are used to cut and coagulate soft tissue during surgery. The coating is applied to stainless steel and resists scab or scar tissue formed by burning during surgical procedures, the company says. Bovie submitted the application in October.
