Boston Scientific, Abbott Get Approval for Stents in Japan

The Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has approved Boston Scientific’s Promus and Abbott’s Xience V everolimus-eluting coronary stents, the companies say. Both companies plan to launch their products as soon as reimbursement is authorized. Japan is the second largest drug-eluting stent market in the world after the U.S., according to Abbott.
