OHRP: University’s Response Rectifies Concerns With IRB

Concerns about institutional review board (IRB) oversight of research at Northern Arizona University (NAU) have been resolved with HHS’ Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP), a determination letter says. NAU updated its IRB procedures in response to two OHRP letters issued last year that raised concerns about the board’s continuing review and lack of detail in some of its written policies. It was OHRP’s first evaluation of NAU’s IRB, Paula Garcia McAllister, the IRB director, said.
