Third Latin American FDA Office Is Opened in Mexico City
January 29, 2010
The FDA has opened a Mexico City office
with two staff — the agency’s third post in Latin America.
The staff will work with its Mexican counterparts to harmonize regulations and guidance standards. No inspectors will be stationed in Mexico City, Rita Chappelle, an FDA spokeswoman, said.
Agency staff also will work with local industries in Mexico that export products to the U.S. to enhance their understanding of FDA safety and quality
expectations, according to Murray Lumpkin, deputy commissioner for international programs.
