Marshals Seize Applied Ozone Devices

U.S. Marshals have seized 79 ozone generators from Applied Ozone Systems at the request of the FDA, after the company did not respond to the agency’s Dec. 21 request for a voluntary recall. The company refused to allow FDA staff to inspect its Auburn, Calif., facility before the agency obtained an inspection warrant last September. Healthcare professionals should stop using the unapproved devices, which Applied Ozone claims can treat diseases such as cancer, AIDS and herpes, the agency says.
