MHRA Issues Alert for Bayer Glucose Meter Use in Neonates

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has issued a medical device alert for Bayer Diabetes Care’s 5-second Contour blood glucose meter. The devices should not be used with neonates because they may show falsely high readings, the agency says. The alert applies only to the 5-second meter.
