Steris Receives FDA Clearance for New Sterilizing System

After more than a year of waiting, Steris has received clearance from the FDA for its Steris System 1E (SS1E) next-generation, liquid chemical sterilizing system. The company hopes to deliver the first SS1E, formerly called the SS1.5, by the end of summer. “Now that we have clearance for Steris 1E, we expect we will be working with customers to transition them to the successor device,” Steris spokesman Stephen Norton said.
