Industry Asks for FDA’s Help on Supply Chain Control

Industry is calling for the FDA to develop a more consistent approach to control supply chains, pointing to agency change approval requirements as a barrier to quickly disqualifying risky suppliers. “I’m waiting for 22 months on average for approval to change from a bad supplier,” Jim Schwier, vice president of operations for Paddock Laboratories, said Wednesday at the 2010 PDA/FDA Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Workshop.
