Study: Home-Based Colorectal Cancer Tests More Accurate

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends fecal occult blood sampling should be done with home tests, which are more accurate than the diagnostics used at a physician’s office. More than 75 percent of primary-care physicians rely on in-office digital rectal exams, but that type of diagnostic misses 95 percent of cancers or polyps that could become cancerous, the CDC says in a new study.
