MHRA Issues Alerts for X-Ray Swabs, Hemofiltration Machines

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) Wednesday issued separate medical device alerts for X-ray detectable gauze swabs made by Rocialle and Aquarius hemofiltration machines manufactured by Edwards Lifesciences and supplied by Baxter Healthcare. Rocialle is recalling one lot of the swabs because part of each swab lacks a strip visible on X-rays. MHRA has had reports of broken wheels on the hemofiltration machines.
