MHRA Issues Alert for Cups in Hip Implants

The UK’s Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has issued an alert for DePuy ASR acetabular cups used in hip resurfacing arthroplasty and replacement. The cups, which have been in clinical use in the UK since 2003, have higher-than-anticipated rates of revision, MHRA says.
