FDA Posts Current Employee Numbers on Transparency Website

More than half of the FDA’s staff is employed at CDER and the Office of Regulatory Affairs (ORA), according to employment statistics the FDA posted on its transparency site, FDA Basics. As of May 20, the agency consisted of 15,100 employees. Of that number, 4,163 worked at ORA and 4,156 were employed at CDER. FDA Basics — the first phase of the agency’s transparency initiative — is an online resource designed to help consumers better understand what the agency does.
