FDA Debars Ophthalmologist Convicted of Diluting Drugs

The FDA is debarring a Memphis ophthalmologist from clinical drug trials, but the agency does not have the authority to debar him as a device investigator. The debarment of Seth Yoser, formerly of the Eye Specialty Group in Memphis, stems from felony convictions of diluting drugs and falsely billing Medicare. Yoser was an investigator for one of 32 sites that participated in a clinical trial of an implantable miniature telescope for end-stage macular degeneration in 2008, according to the FDA website.
