Federal Court Refuses Sanofi Motion to Block Generic Lovenox

Sanofi-Aventis will continue its fight to keep generic versions of its blood thinner Lovenox off the market despite a federal court’s refusal to intervene in the matter. The U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia ruled last week that it would not grant Sanofi an injunction to prevent generic Lovenox (enoxaparin sodium) from being sold while the company’s lawsuit against the FDA proceeds. Sanofi, however, said that it would continue pressing its case, noting that the suit “poses a number of significant questions regarding the FDA review process for complex pharmaceutical products, which are important to pursue.”
