Dental Products Panel to Meet

The FDA’s Dental Products Panel will meet Dec. 14 and 15 to discuss the final rule on the classification of dental amalgam. The panel will examine scientific issues raised in petitions the FDA received on the rule. Some petitions have questioned the adequacy of the risk assessment performed by the FDA when classifying dental amalgam. The meeting will take place from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days at the Holiday Inn in Gaithersburg, Md.
