FDA-PAHO Database Could Ease Device Access to Latin America

An agreement between the FDA and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) could enhance harmonization among regulatory authorities in the Americas, speed response times to problems in the medical supply chain and make doing business in Latin America less complicated for devicemakers. Under the agreement, published in the Federal Register last week, the FDA will award PAHO $904,000 to develop an English-Spanish database of information on medical products and related regulatory processes and systems in the region.
