MiCardia Gets Clearance for enCore Mitral Valve Repair System

Micardia has received CE Marking for its enCore mitral valve repair system. The device is used to adjust the mitral valve to correct residual regurgitation, which occurs when the valve does not close properly. Mitral regurgitation is the most common type of heart valve insufficiency, with about 20,000 repairs performed in the EU every year, according to MiCardia.
