MHRA Issues Safety Alert for Gamma Camera

The UK’s Medicines and Heathcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has released a safety alert for Siemens’ e.cam gamma camera after a patient’s finger was amputated during use. The patient was holding on to the side of the camera couch while the technologist moved the system, causing the patient’s finger to be caught between the moving and stationary parts of the system.
