Study: Boston Scientific’s Latitude System Reduces Patient Death

December 7, 2010
A study published in the Dec. 7 issue of Circulation suggests that subjects monitored through Boston Scientific’s Latitude patient management system had a 50 percent reduction in death risk compared with those followed in-clinic only. Latitude collects and sends data from implanted cardiac devices directly to physicians, allowing them to remotely monitor patients. Patients monitored through the system benefit from earlier notification of clinical events and faster diagnoses, the company says.
