Abbott’s Coronary Balloon System Approved in US and Japan

Abbott has received U.S. regulatory clearance and Japanese approval for its Trek coronary dilation catheters. The Trek system is designed to open patients’ narrowed arteries before implanting stents during angioplasty procedures, the company says. The device is also approved in the EU.
