More Products Recalled for Triad Swab Contaminations

February 8, 2011
Companies are continuing to recall products that are packaged with Triad alcohol prep pads and swabs that could be contaminated with Bacillus cereus bacteria. Pfizer, Novartis and Watson have all recalled injection kits that include Triad swabs after learning of the possible contamination. Triad’s products, which are sold under different labels, are used to disinfect skin prior to an injection. Exposure to B. cereus could cause potentially life-threatening infection, the FDA says.
