Medtronic Recalls Synchromed Kits

Medtronic has issued a product recall for its Synchromed II pumps, Synchromed EL infusion system and Medtronic refill kits. Use of these devices may result in “pocket fills,” or the unintentional injection of drugs into a patient’s subcutaneous tissue instead of the pump. Pocket fills may cause serious patient harm and/or death due to drug underdose or overdose.
