FDA Seeks Comments on Methods of Public Drug Communications

February 28, 2011
The FDA is requesting comment on its plan to test messages on various topics related to drugs in an effort to better to enhance communication with the public. The agency will informally collect public opinion on topics related to consumers, patients and healthcare providers, including direct-to-consumer marketing, physician and patient labeling of drugs, emerging risk communications and online sales of medical products, according to a notice in the Federal Register Feb. 8. Individual interviews, general public and physician focus groups, and self-administered and gatekeeper surveys will be used.
