EMA: Apply Same Ethical Clinical Trial Standards All Over the World

As more and more clinical trials are conducted all over the world, ethical principles are universal and the same standards should be applied everywhere, according to a report from the European Medicines Agency (EMA) workshop on clinical trials. “What is needed is a robust framework for the oversight and conduct of clinical trials, no matter where in the world the clinical investigator sites are located and patients recruited,” former EMA Executive Director Thomas Lonngren said at the workshop in September.
