House Passes Patent Reform, Fee Diversion Ended

The U.S. patent system will undergo its first major overhaul in years as the House passed its version of the America Invents Act Thursday by a 304–117 vote. The bill, H.R. 1249, most notably ends fee diversion by creating a fund for fees collected by the Patent and Trademark Office (PTO).
