GAO Review Mixed for Two Pediatric Research Laws

Two key pieces of legislation designed to encourage pediatric studies are helping bring more and safer drugs to pediatric populations but the FDA needs improved tracking, and sponsors need additional guidance and incentives to accelerate those treatments to market, a Government Accountability Office (GAO) examination of the laws suggests.
