MHRA Issues Medical Device Alert for Wound Drainage Systems

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has issued an alert for Unomedical’s HandyVac low vacuum surgical wound drainage systems and accessories. The connector between the drainage tube and bellows may leak, resulting in the loss of active drainage and an increased risk of infection and/or hematoma formation requiring medical intervention.
