Torax Medical Wins Preliminary Backing From FDA on Acid Reflux Device

St. Paul-based medical device maker Torax Medical won a positive preliminary recommendation from the FDA Friday for a new magnetic band that is placed around the esophageal sphincter in an effort to treat acid reflux disease, company officials said.
