Senators Widen Probe Into FDA’s Response to Methotrexate Shortage

The FDA patted itself on the back last month for its efforts to ease the shortage of leukemia drug methotrexate, but it apparently didn’t act fast enough to satisfy some members of Congress. A group of senators is asking FDA Commissioner Margaret Hamburg for information on the agency’s recent work with generic-drug makers to increase methotrexate supply.
