Battery Replacement Necessary for Blood Monitoring Device

Terumo Cardiovascular Systems issued a field safety notice on its Terumo CDI 500 blood parameter monitoring system. In a recent review of the system, Terumo found that replacement of the batteries should be considered “routine maintenance.” Terumo is now revising the operator’s manual to remind operators to replace batteries every 10 years.
