Drugmakers Could See Fewer Inspections Under Senate Draft Drug Safety Bill

Drugmakers could see fewer inspections under a draft Senate bill that would jettison the 1938 FD&C Act’s requirement that domestic manufacturing facilities be inspected at least once every two years. Instead, the discussion draft of drug safety legislation would allow for a risk-based schedule that allocates inspection funding toward sites with “known safety risks.”
